TOEFL comprises majorly of four sections including reading, writing, listening and speaking language skills used in academic institutions. The final score is provided on the basis of points covering 30 points for each section, totaling to 120 points. Scoring is done through both automated scoring system and human raters. The exam scores would be emailed to the candidate after 10 days of exam date and would be valid for two years. Most academic institutions accept a score in between 65 to 110 as a benchmark for procuring admissions. However, in the countries where computer- and paper- based test are still in use, the score-acceptance by academic institutions varies accordingly.
The exam registration fee is $170 amounting to approximately 11,500/- INR. This exam can be re-attempted by a student any number of times with a time duration of 12-day period.
